On September 10th from 3-7 PM the Augustana Lutheran Church property will be transformed from an historic Swedish Church structure to the center of a lively multicultural party! People from all around the cathedral neighborhood will gather for fun and games, conversation and laughter, music and, of course food: lots and lots of food from both North and Central America. Augustana Lutheran in partnership with Pueblo de Dios and with the help of Our Savior?s Lutheran Church will host the annual Block Party Fiesta. An outstanding committee of members of Augusta and Pueblo de Dios and Our Saviors met and articulated the purpose of this exciting event:
- To give people an experience of God?s grace (it's free and there's a supportive and loving community behind it!)
- To extend a welcome to people in our neighborhood who may be seeking after God or desiring to connect with a new community of faith.
- To build ties between Augustana and Pueblo de Dios.
- To build relationships with people throughout our neighborhood.
- To have a fun time where people discover the wonderful hospitality of our communities of faith.
Here are just a few highlights to look for at this wonderful event:
- Food, food, food!
- Live Music (Latin American and North American)
- Inflatables and other games for kids
- Bingo for grown up kids
